February is Pet Dental Care Month

Taking care of your pet’s teeth is one of the best ways to keep your pet healthy. Bad breath in your cat or dog is something that can be very serious. Bacteria in the mouth can cause plaque build up, gum infection, loose teeth and also affect the kidneys, liver, heart and more. Daily brushing of teeth with an enzymatic pet toothpaste is recommended to reduce bacteria in the mouth along with treats and chews designed for dental care.

Full dental cleaning with anesthesia is recommended to be done every 6 to 12 months along with dental x-rays. This allows the Veterinarian and the dental technician to do a thorough exam of your pet’s teeth including the roots of the teeth. Sometimes teeth can appear to look normal but x-rays can show weak roots and infections. These can be painful for your pet and sometimes extractions are necessary. Having your pet under the anesthetic for the dental x-rays and cleaning allows us to look at the big picture and take care of your pet’s dental needs. Along with the x-rays, a dental package includes an examination, anesthetic, ultrasonic teeth cleaning, fluoride treatment, and polishing.

For the month of February we offer 25 % off Pet Dental Cleaning and also 10% off Pet Dental care products. We carry toothpaste, dental chews, tooth brushes, mouth rinse and gel. If you would like to schedule an appointment please call us today! 714-771-3261.
